DELTA-THENE vertical
Surfaces should be smooth, compression-resistant, and free from dust and porosities. Junctions between floor slabs and walls should be fillet-shaped. Mineral surfaces should be primed with DELTA®-THENE GRUNDANSTRICH. The primer should cover the entire surface and be given adequate time to dry. DELTA®-THENE KÄLTEGRUNDANSTRICH should be used whenever ambient temperatures drop to between +5 and -5°C.
Before DELTA®-THENE is applied, details such as inside/outside corners, pipe apertures, and fillets should be protected by sheet cuttings and/or reinforcement strips (e.g. DELTA®-THENE BAND T 300) so that all critical zones are covered by a double layer of material in the finished state. Strips should be c. 30cm wide.
Cut DELTA®-THENE to the desired length and roll up. Pull off the non-stick paper along the upper edge and affix the sheet, working from top to bottom and from the middle towards the edges, making sure there are no air bubbles, and pressing it down firmly across the surface.
Sheets should overlap by 10cm.
Outside corners should be covered first by a 30-cm strip. Alternatively, fold a sheet c. 15cm around the corner and then another from the other side. Overlaps and seams should be carefully worked over and pressed down.
Vertical sheets should have their upper edges secured mechanically by, for example, clout nails spaced 50cm apart.
In addition, upper sheet edges should be protected by DELTA®-BAND, moulding caps, or plaster bars. If DELTA®-BAND is used, mineral surfaces should be pre-treated with DELTA®-THENE
GRUNDANSTRICH. Moulding caps and plaster bars should be installed immediately after sheet application.
