    04.03.2022 Wischemann-Group becomes part of the Dörken family

    In future, there will be a "Competence Center for molded plastic parts" in addition to Dörken Membranes and Dörken Coatings.

    With retroactive effect from January 1st 2021, Ewald Dörken AG, Herdecke, will take over 100 % of the shares of Wischemann Kunststoff GmbH, VACU-FORM Wischemann GmbH & Co. KG and Wi-sales GmbH as well as 30 % of the shares of HeWi-Engineering GmbH. The Wischemann Group is one of the most important plastics specialists for innovative thermoformed parts and deep-drawing processes. The takeover will enable Dörken to add a powerful third pillar to its organization.

    Next to Dörken Membranes with membranes for wind and moisture protection in pitched roofs, as well as foundation wall protection and sealing solutions for building components in contact with the ground and Dörken Coatings with high-performance solutions for corrosion and surface protection, decorative design and tinting technology, there will now be a further division: a competence center for plastic moulded parts. The Wischemann Group is established in strongly growing segments. The thermoformed products are used as sheets and rolls in a wide variety of construction applications, but also as packaging or as components in automotive manufacturing. These are areas of expertise that ideally complement the product portfolio of Ewald Dörken AG.

    The Wischemann Group will be managed as an independent organization within the Dörken Group. There will be no changes for the employees at the Ochtrup and Salzbergen sites. Ingo Wischemann will retire from management. However, he - as well as the entire Wischemann family - will accompany and support the new company management during the transition period.

    Dörken has the structures to establish the plastics specialist, which has grown strongly over the past 25 years, on an international level as well. The fact that two mediumsized Westphalian family businesses with a similar spirit have come together here has made the decision much easier for Ingo Wischemann: "I would not have sold to any other company but Dörken. Both family-owned companies have the same wavelength and comparable corporate cultures - simply a very similar DNA!"

    We are relying on the concentrated competence of the Wischemann employees. We will learn a lot from each other, develop the new company together, use synergies in the field of technologies and thus grow together internationally. This is a real win-win situation!
